I am very lucky to have 2 brains. My second brain is an application that is called Evernote. It is availiable on iPhone, iPad, iTouch, Mac, Windows and Android phones. You can capture anything from audio notes, pictures, hand written notes. It is very easy to search everything even your pictures and hand written notes. Take a picture of a white board after a meeting and it is now searchable. You can assign tags to your notes. Lets say you took a picture of a wine bottle, you can search for it by location or information on the bottle. Give it a try and let me know what you think..
